Who need to boost his mineral and vitamins level?
Here a recipe for a easy smoothie to fill your body with plenty of good vitamins! The star? Red Beetroot!
The red beet contains minerals such as sodium, calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium and phosphorus and also lot of vitamins as Vitamin A, Vitamin C and B! Both the tuber and its leaves are rich in antioxidants and flavonoids, useful in protecting the body from the action of free radicals. The vitamin A, essential for eye protection, is superior to leaf than tubers.
This magic beet is full of, folic acid, also known as vitamin B9, that it is considered to be particularly useful for pregnancy, in order to avoid defects in the development of the unborn child. The vitamin B9 content is greater in crude red beet and can be reduced by cooking.
- 1 medium red beetroot
- 7 strawberries
- 1 celery stalks
- 5 leaves of basil
- 0.5 apple
- 1 tea spoon of turmeric powder
- 1 pinch of pepper (to activate the turmeric power!)
- 1.5 inch of fresh ginger (I love ginger… you can reduce to 1 inch)
- 1 tea spoon of flax seeds
- 1 lemon juice
- 1/2 cup of water
Mix everything in your food processor 😉
You can also filter the smoothie to obtain a juice and use the fiber for lunch.
If you do it, my suggestion is to mix it with basmati rice for a rice salad!
